BHEL has shown interest in setting up a power plant at Singur in West Bengal as officials has visited the site recently along with West Bengal power Development Corporation and state government officials. A report on possible project is likely to be given soon. There is a consideration of Two projects coming up, one is of Power Equipment and another is Thermal Power Plant with the capacity of 1600 MW.
Earlier at the same place, Tata’s Nano project was proposed and was afterward shifted to Gujarat because of protest from Political Party Trinamool Congress.
